UPDATE on FDA Proposal

The FDA held a conference call with staff and legal counsel from the Brewers Association last Thursday.

In brief, the FDA recognized the concern and interest from the craft brewing community. Thanks to each of you who sent a comment to the FDA.

It appears that the FDA will have a revised proposal out this summer. Our hope is that this new proposal will have a minimal impact on our ability to easily send spent grain to farmers as animal feed. This new proposal will also trigger another comment period.

There has been a tremendous amount of media attention as well as strong Congressional support for our industry. Here is a video of Senator Collins speaking on behalf of craft brewers.

I would again like to thank each of you who commented. Our voice appears to have been heard, but we still may need to raise it again. I will keep you posted
