California Craft Beer Summit Returns to Sacramento

Three-day event includes workshops, trade show and outdoor beer festival

Sacramento, Calif. (May 9, 2017) – In what has become the largest event of its kind in the Golden State, the California Craft Beer Summit (www.CaCraftBeerSummit.com) is once again returning to Sacramento this year.  Slated for September 7-9, 2017, the showcase for craft beer is an experience-driven, hands-on event highlighting the ingredients, brewers, businesses and beer lovers behind the increasingly popular industry.  An estimated 160 breweries pour more than 450 beers at the event’s capstone beer festival, to be held in front of the State Capitol to close out the Summit weekend.

“The success and evolution of this event over the years speaks to the growth and passion of craft brewers, beer lovers and the brewing community,” said Tom McCormick, executive director of the California Craft Brewers Association (CCBA), the nonprofit hosting the event. “Every brewery has a story, and the Summit highlights each and every story that laid the foundation and the future for the full-flavored craft beers in demand around the world.”

Pinned as the premier event for craft beer in California and across the West Coast, participants include brewers, homebrewers, retailers, restaurant owners, distributors and service providers. The seminar’s three-day agenda blends together educational workshops, industry leader discussions, a trade show and demonstrations by renowned culinary experts.   Headline speakers include David Walker of Firestone Walker Brewing Co; Charlie Papazian of the Brewers Association; and Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada Brewing. The Summit concludes with a celebratory beer festival held on the western edge of the California State Capitol – the largest in the state. Last year’s event welcomed more than 6,000 patrons over three days.

“The Summit isn’t just a food pairing event, it isn’t just a festival, it isn’t just a trade show and it isn’t just educational – it’s all of the above,” notes McCormick.  “The Summit brings together a community of people that share the same values of creativity and innovation.”

Various ticket packages go on sale for a limited time at special early bird discounts. Tickets are available for single day or the entire weekend. Additional ticketing information can be found online here.
